Channel groupings are rule-based groupings of your traffic sources. Google Analytics has default groupings, like Paid Search and Direct, but these can be ineffective because they combine all marketing together in generic channels. This means that all third-party classifieds get grouped together, all social media together, ect. - making it hard to get insights into how each channel is performing.
A custom channel grouping lets you see detailed channel performance for key auto marketing vendors, including third-party classified sites, email, social media, OEM, and more. For increased effectiveness and efficiency, we’ve created a custom channel grouping template for you to add to your account. If you’re signed in to Google Analytics, you can quickly add the CarGurus custom template just by clicking here.
